SERVING A LITTLE MINDFULNESS WITH EVERY CUP OF TEA
We want to give people a taste of mindfulness through tea, and a real taste of tea through mindfulness. This is the core philosophy in everything we do, from the teas we sell to the contents we share and the experiences we run.
A SMALL CURATION OF YUNNAN TEA
We have tasted hundreds of teas but only selling a few.
These are the qualities we lookout for...
A good tea high can do some interesting things to the body and mind (read: Tea And Mindfulness) and we tend to put a little more weight on this aspect of tea. We like teas that can help relax the body and quiet the mind, creating a nice head-space and body-feel for mindfulness meditation.
Intricate and harmonious flavours is what we taste for because no matter how good a tea feels, if it doesn't taste good, we won't want to drink it.
Teas are very sensitive to its storage environments; temperature, humidity, odours, sunlight, these can all affect the quality of a tea. Stored correctly, teas can mature and transform in fascinating ways. Stored poorly and the teas can spoil.
Origin of The Tea (we leave out what we are unsure of)
Before a tea leaf is picked from its tree, a variety of factors will determine the quality of its end product. These may include things like the origin of the tea, the age of its trees, the quality of its ecosystem, the season it was picked, the weather on the day of picking etc. Some of our teas (i.e. ChangShou series) would have a lot more information of its origins as they are made by our partners. Other teas (i.e. most aged Puers) have a much more opaque history, in such cases, we'd rather just leave it blank.
